Welcome to Jagheri Bagh

Jagheri Bagh is our family home. We come here for delightful weeks at a stretch with our kids, friends and our three springer spaniels. Our time is spent typically going on long walks, cooking, and soaking up the fresh mountain air. And playing Canasta and Bridge. We don’t come here nearly as much as we’d like, and would like to open up our home to others to enjoy.

History of the Bagh

Jagheri Bagh is a prominent apple orchard situated near the Chail-Kufri Road in the picturesque Shimla region. This historic property was originally owned by Maharajah Rajinder Singh of Patiala until the late 19th century. In a notable exchange, Maharajah Rajinder Singh swapped Jagheri Bagh with the Raja of Arki for another estate.

In the 1980s, the descendants of the Raja of Arki sold the property to a Bengali gentleman who had married a local woman, marking a new chapter in its ownership. This gentleman eventually sold Jagheri Bagh to Sardar Tejinder Singh, who decided to transform the landscape by replacing the original apple orchard with flower cultivation.

The latest chapter in Jagheri Bagh's history began in 2002, when Sardar Tejinder Singh sold the property to Princess Rupinder Kumari of Patiala. Today, it serves as a cherished family home for Princess Rupinder Kumari, preserving its rich heritage and continuing its legacy.
